Impact modifiers

Some plastics have high E modules, which might cause a higher fragility during short-term strong mechanical load. By using appropriate polymer modifiers energy can be better absorbed in the polymer by an impact  e.g. and does not inevitably provoke a break of the workpiece. Such modifiers are e.g. used in MAP dishes out of polypropylen, but also in other technical plastics (polyamide, PBT etc.)
