Fiber finishing

Normally yarns (multifilaments, monofilaments) and tapes are impacted by a spinning oil (or avivage) before weaving in order to achieve a better processing. This is done after extrusion whereby the yarns either go through an oil bath or are sprayed with oil. This further process stage is complex and thus expensive and often causes disturbances later because it is a wet process. The use of spinning oils and avivage often causes problems regarding the durability of the fabrics, due to unintentional chemical reactions with the yarns, tapes or rather their ingredients (antioxidants, UV stabilizers etc.). In order to replace these formulations it is possible to incorporate special substances in the yarn/tape during extrusion which migrate to the surface and take over the tasks of the spinning oils/avivage. These systems can be adapted to the required applications and handling problems or rather incompatibilities can be minimized.
