Environmental Management
In line with ISO 9001:2000 the protection of the environment is documented in the business principles, the ARGUS quality policy as well as in the different process and work instructions.
The aim is the protection of the environment and the prevention of environmental pollution in accordance with social and economical requirements.
Various measures regarding environmental protection have been taken and documented:
1. General measures / organisational measures:
- Evaluation of the observation of legal requirements by the management
- Avoidance of waste by multiple use
- Waste utilization
- Waste disposal by certified companies only
- Measures in order to avoid air pollution, water pollution and pollution of the soil
- Aerial surveillance, inspection of the surroundings (noise) and water control (partly by the Accident Prevention & Insurance Association “BG”)
- Economization of energy and water
- Evaluation of raw materials regarding their environmental compatibility
- Noise land-registry
- Implementation of material-specific preventive measures, product-specific hygiene instructions
- Consideration of environmental aspects during planning and execution of production by the use of modern technologies
- Div. Working instructions regarding the cleaning of the production lines and equipment
- Closed production line from the bag feeding to the silo for the finished product
- Constructural and procedural measures to prevent air pollution
- Constructural and procedural measures for noise protection
- Hygiene rules for the working places
- Appropriate packaging: valve bags, shrink hoods, paperboard containers,
- Storage and transport regulations
- FiFo- principle
- Selected forwarding agents, rating of the forwarders
All these measures are handled, i.e. planned, executed and controlled within the scope of the quality management system. For this reason we have not installed an independently certified environmental management system.
